This video came out a month ago but it’s still pretty funny.
Even the reigning National League MVP player Kris Bryant recognized the “sound guy” had a wicked curve ball when he stepped in for the pitcher tossing balls during batting practice.
Of course, the sound guy was actually the four-time Cy Young award winner Greg Maddux.
Looking back at his rookie cards, I almost forgot he started his career as a Chicago Cub. He’s become so synonymous with being the Atlanta Braves ace who compiled quite the impressive stat line over his distinguished career (eight-time All Star, 18-time Gold Glove winner, 355-227 win-loss record, just to name a few).
Here’s another example of his rookie card being more deflated than it should be due to his rookie card coming out in the 1980s.
But his 1987 Donruss Rookies (PSA Graded 10 = $65) or the 1987 Topps Traded (PSA Graded 10 = $25) cards is almost a must for any Maddux fan.
Good to see though his curve ball is still pretty good after seeing the video.
