For modern day collectors and baseball fans, the Bowman Chrome brand has become one of the most sought after products of the new millennium. The strength in the brand comes from the prestige of its autograph prospect and rookie cards.
If you were to search out the most sought out prospect card for a given baseball player who debuted in the last 15 years, it is almost guaranteed it will be one of their Bowman Chrome cards. While a player’s first card, or even their first autograph card may not be in the Bowman Chrome set, it is usually their most valuable.
Because of a Topps licensing agreement with Major League Baseball (starting in 2009), a player’s Bowman Chrome autograph will often be their first autographed card in the uniform of a major league team and the first to include all the proper MLB trademarks.
The strength and reputation of the Bowman Chrome brand has since only boosted the market for their prospect cards.
So which Bowman Chrome prospect or rookie autograph cards are the most valuable?
We have looked at the average selling price of all Bowman Chrome autograph cards and will be counting down the top 10 most valuable starting tomorrow.
Criteria
We will be looking at base autograph cards only. This means that autographed inserts such as AFLAC will not be included.
Refractor parallels will also not be considered.
Only one card per player will be included.
The ranking is determined solely on current market value based on average online selling prices.
All prices will be for cards that are graded BGS 9.5 with a 10 auto unless specified otherwise.
Whether you are new to collecting or a diehard fan, we hope you enjoy the series and come back each day as we countdown the top 10 Bowman Chrome Autographs.
