Yordan Alvarez and his top 3 rookie cards

  • 2 min read

As if the Houston Astros didn’t have enough young stud players (RE: Alex Bregman, George Springer, Carlos Correa), they have one more in Yordan Alvarez.

He recently broke the rookie record passing Albert Pujols, driving in his 35th RBI in just his 30th game.

Seems sky’s the limit for Alvarez who’s looking to help the Astros win another World Series championship.

Here are his top 3 rookie cards to collect (with links provided to go bid/buy/watch on eBay) if you’re looking to invest early.

1. 2018 Bowman Chrome Autograph Card #CPAYA

We have to start here with his Bowman Chrome prospect autograph card.

If the top prospect has an autograph card in this set, it’s probably the most valuable.

Plus there are a number of color refractor parallel cards with the rarer ones going for a pretty penny.

2. 2018 Bowman’s Best Autograph Card #B18-YA

With the Bowman Chrome prospect autograph cards being a little too rich for many collectors, the Bowman’s Best usually has a more affordable option.

The autographs are on-card like the Bowman Chrome cards and it has a number of color refractor parallels to chase as well.

3. 2018 Topps Heritage Minors Real One Autographs #ROA-YA

The Real One on-card autographs from the Topps Heritage set is another favorite for a number of collectors.

Here’s one from his minor league days.

The base card is quite affordable now but there are some (but not as many) parallels as well to chase including a red parallel numbered to just 25.
