Will this have any impact on the hobby?
Of course, most will depend on how he actually plays for the Padres and how well the team does. And if we look at the projected lineup, this could be a contending team sooner than later.
But Machado definitely has the talent and hopefully the signing of a big contract doesn’t impact him (mentally) in any way.
