It’s pretty rare to see a 1/1 dual autograph basketball card featuring Zion Williamson and RJ Barrett listed for sale.

But it’s even more rare to hear the story behind this sports card being auctioned off (auction ends Nov. 6, 2019) with 100% of the proceeds going to charity.

Outlined in his eBay listing for the 2019-20 Panini Prizm Draft Picks Zion Williamson & RJ Barrett Dual Autograph 1/1 Basketball Card), Jimmy begins his story about how he pulled the monster hit from a pack while his wife broadcast the event live on Instagram.

That set off a whirlwind trip to Dallas where he got the card graded in person at Beckett Grading headquarters. And while in Dallas, he was also invited to Panini America headquarters to show off the card there too.

One hundred per cent of the proceeds from this Zion Williamson and RJ Barrett dual autograph card are going to charity.

Then, in his own words, ” All that remained was to sell the card and collect the money to pay bills, buy more cards and enjoy the spoils of a huge hit…but it just seemed like there was a better option.”

That better option was to auction off the card with 100% of the proceeds going to “The Crossnore School,” which is a group home for the abused, abandoned and neglected children located in the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina.

Jimmy recalled his experience working there with his wife where they “saw the worst of the worst circumstances and the best of the best involving children in horrible situations and the people that help them navigate their way out of a dark hole that they didn’t create themselves.

“The strength and determination of the children and the employees there remains a wealth of inspiration in our lives.”

With the generosity of their giving the entire proceeds of this sale, Jimmy and his wife hope that this story inspires everyone else to give.

“We hope it prompts giving of ANY kind, it doesn’t have to be big, it doesn’t have to be money. It could be time, a card, a longer conversation than normal with someone who needs it,” Jimmy said. “Anything. Just…GIVE. Without any sense of payback or recognition, just give.”

You can read his whole post in his eBay listing and/or bid on this card before the auction ends Nov. 6.
