Ty Cobb remains an important figure in both the world of baseball and in the hobby.
Screen Shot 2017-09-15 at 10.59.29 AM.pngAs a player, he hit a career .367 batting average, 4,197 hits, 117 home runs, knocked in 1,938 RBIs and stole 892 bases.
In the hobby, his baseball cards from the T206 series is highly sought after.
One of his T206 cards from the Polar Bear cigarette packs (Red Portrait) is currently on eBay (PSA Graded 3).
Player: Ty Cobb
Career: Played 23 seasons from 1905 to 1928, beginning his first 22 years with the Detroit Tigers and finishing his last season with the Philadelphia Athletics. His career batting average was an astounding .367, with 4,197 hits, 1,938 RBIs, and 892 stolen bases. Cobb is also a 12-time American League batting champion, and six-time American League stolen base leader. 
Card facts: The T206 Polar Bear back commands a small premium over the more common Piedmont and Sweet Caporal back cards. Polar Back cards with high gradings are said to be very rare.
