10: Mookie Betts 2014 Bowman Chrome Auto $360
We kick off our top 10 countdown with Boston Red Sox phenom Mookie Betts and his first Bowman Chrome autograph card from the 2014 release of the product.
Betts has seen his card value sky rocket over the past year thanks in no small part to his breakout 2016 season. Betts was already one of the top young players entering the year, before taking it to another level by batting .318/.363/.534 along with 31 HRs, leading the AL in total bases, while playing stellar defense.
When it was all said and done, Betts finished with 9.6 WAR and was the runner up for the AL MVP award.
In 2017 Betts will try to build on his breakthrough season and lead a loaded Red Sox team to the World Series.
At only 5-9 and 180 lbs we’ll find out if Betts has enough power to consistently knock out 30 HRs each year.
Even if he does regress in the power department he has all the tools to consistently put up 6+ WAR seasons.
Interesting card. I had forgotten that Betts came up as a 2nd basemen. A great all-around player and a fine selection to start the Top 10 countdown.
Agreed!
