Love him or hate him on the court, Russell Westbrook’s talent is undeniable and his rookie cards are still a hot commodity.
We’ll see if being reunited with James Harden on the Houston Rockets will lead to a championship title (which will most likely boost his current rookie card value).
But for those looking to invest today, here are his top 3 rookie cards when he played for the Oklahoma Thunder, to collect (with links provided below to bid or buy them on eBay).
1. 2008-09 Upper Deck Exquisite Rookie Patch Autograph /225
For high-end collectors who like a limited set (numbered to just 225) and want that patch relic with the autograph, this one is for you.
Well-graded cards are already worth thousands of dollars and even ungraded cards will cost you a few thousand.
2. 2008-09 Bowman Chrome Autograph Rookie Card #154
While Bowman Chrome are more popular with baseball rookie collectors, Russell Westbrook has an autograph card on this chrome stock card set.
It’s a sticker autograph but the set does come with plenty of parallel refractors (for those who like chasing the rainbow) and the rare ones have plenty of value.
3. 2008-09 Topps Chrome Autograph Rookie Card #224
A more affordable alternative to the Bowman Chrome card is the Topps Chrome card from the same season (2008-09).
It’s also on a nice chrome stock (as well as a sticker autograph) and features a nice profile shot of Westbrook.
