Clubbing two homers in one night is quite the feat. But three homeruns in one game? Saying it’s hard to do would be quite the understatement.
But New York Mets outfielder Yoenis Cespedes did just that last night and added a double, which almost hit the warning track.
While he faced a suspect Philadelphia Phillies pitching staff in Clay Buchholz and Adam Morgan, the three-homerun game is still a great accomplishment.
Cespedes’ power, of course, is no big surprise, but his streakiness is probably what keeps his card value from reaching that elite level.
In fact, he started his season on a cold streak until breaking out of the early funk big time last night.
But at the end of the day and at the end of his career, expect an impressive stat line from Cespedes especially when looking at his power numbers.
And for any Mets (or Athletics) fan, his 2012 Topps Chrome autographed rookie card would be a great addition to the team collection.
The current value on eBay is $115 for a BGS Graded 9.5/10 card.
