It’s pretty incredible what New York Mets rookie sensation Pete Alonso is doing right now.
His 26th homer of this season just broke the National League record for most home runs by a rookie before the All-Star break. Cody Bellinger previously set the record with 25 home runs in 2017.
Alonso also ties the Mets’ record for single-season home runs set by a rookie with Darryl Strawberry back in 1983.
