Regardless of your position on whether his home runs were legit (in the era of steroids baseball), the record books still say all of Barry Bonds home runs count.
On this day, Sept. 7, 2001, Bonds hit his 60th becoming the fifth MLB player to do so. He went on to hit 73 in that historic season for the San Francisco Giants.
While Bonds was a rookie for the Pittsburgh Pirates during the baseball card era that overproduced sports cards, there is the limited 1986 Topps Traded Tiffany set issued that printed his rookie cards in a higher white stock of paper.
The current going value for a PSA Graded 10 is $1,395 (click link to see eBay posting).
For those who aren’t willing to pay that much, a PSA Graded 9 card is going for just under $700 here.
The regular Topps Traded rookie card printed on a lesser quality, greyish stock is much more affordable.
Those typically go for $100 for a PSA Graded 10.
