Almost synonymous with the word New York Yankees captain is the name Derek Jeter.
That’s saying something with the rich history this club has with so many legends associated with the Bronx Bombers.
But there’s no denying Jeter belongs up there and so we pick our three favorite rookie cards belonging to him
1993 SP Derek Jeter rookie card #279
We’re not going against the grain here. This is probably the most valuable, most iconic rookie card belonging to Derek Jeter.
Because of its foil background, this Upper Deck card is hard to find one graded in mint condition. But the ones that are can cost up in the thousands.
Even a graded card that is less than mint condition is still worth having.
Value (as of March 2017): $4,000 (PSA Graded MINT 9)
1993 Bowman rookie card #511
Another Bowman rookie card that has the name of the brand going for it.
Jeter’s rookie card is no different and is the highlight of the 1993 Bowman set.
It’s not too expensive either and quite accessible to collect for any hobbyists.
Value (as of March 2017): $200 (PSA Graded GEM MT 10)
1993 Topps rookie card #98
It’s affordable compared to the other two and pretty accessible. I have one ungraded and I’m just glad to say I own a Derek Jeter rookie card.
Sure the background is a bit cheesy but it’s a nice clean look.
There’s also a gold parallel version along with two additional versions found in the Florida Marlins and Colorado Rockies inaugural sets, which has a special stamp noting the set it comes from. The parallel versions do come at a greater cost though.
Value (as of March 2017): $100 (PSA Graded GEM MT 10)

I actually found a 93 Bowman stuck to another card in one of my boxes years ago, peeled it apart, submitted it and got a 10 lol. Sold it immediately!
