“A life is not important except in the impact it has on other lives.”
Quotes like this attributed to Jackie Robinson resonate with so many people because it transcends the game of baseball.
Robinson himself lived a life that many wouldn’t have been able to endure as he overcame challenge after challenge while breaking the color barrier in Major League Baseball.
You can read his autobiography, I Never Had It Made: An Autobiography of Jackie Robinson, and see how the Brooklyn Dodgers star paved the way for players like Hank Aaron, Reggie Jackson and Barry Bonds.
Equally impressive is that on top of all the off-field pressures, he played at an elite level with ridiculous statistics to back it up.
At fivecardguys.com, we salute the amazing accomplishments and tremendous contributions Mr. Robinson has made both on and off the field.
Here are some of his iconic baseball cards that collectors would be lucky to have.

“I’m not concerned with your liking or disliking me. All I ask is that you respect me as a human being.” – Jackie Robinson
