He doesn’t have a long career by any means, but what Boston Red Sox outfielder Mookie Betts has done so far in the Major Leagues is remarkably, consistently good.
He’s already batting .301 since he joined the big leagues four seasons ago. In 2015 and 2016, Betts showed off his power and speed hitting 18 and 31 homeruns, respectively, while stealing 21 and 26 bases.
This season, he’s off to the races again with 15 homeruns hit nearly halfway through the season, 15 stolen bases, batting .286 with 56 runs and 51 RBIs, including eight yesterday in one game – the most by a leadoff batter in 98 years.
Mookie Betts has 8 RBI so far today.

Despite the upward trend, his 2014 Bowman Chrome Prospect base autograph rookie card (BGS Graded 9.5/10) can be bought for $250 to $300. Essentially the same value of rookie and fellow teammate Andrew Benintendi.
It’s not surprising since collectors love and often overvalue the new shiny toy, ie. latest top rookie/prospect, but overtime, the stats should determine the longterm value of a rookie card.
While both Benintendi and Betts have very promising careers ahead of them, right now, Betts has proven he’s more capable of keeping it up. Hopefully the value of his cards will increase accordingly.
