Recently MLBPipeline.com named Arizona Diamondbacks prospect Jon Duplantier minor league pitcher of the year after pitching his first full season in the minors with a stellar 1.39 ERA.
That’s second best in the past 32 years, MLBPipeline.com reported, behind a pitcher many baseball fans have heard of – Justin Verlander.
While it’s still early to see if his early success will translate into big league success like the aforementioned Verlander, there is one card out now that an early baseball card prospector might be interested in retaining.
It’s the 2016 Elite Extra Edition Aspirations Gold baseball card, which isn’t autographed but it is a 1/1 with a BGS Grading of 9.5/10 (click to see eBay listing while available here).
Or you can wait for his Bowman Chrome autograph rookie card to come out whenever that year might be, which will most likely command big bucks due to the hype if he continues to pitch the way he does.
