What a banner year so far for New York Yankees rookie sensation Aaron Judge.
With his 29 homerun recorded before the All-Star break, Judge joins just two other players to have done so in their respective rookie seasons.
They are Mark McGwire and Jose Abreu.

The popular 1985 Topps USA rookie card for McGwire is still relatively affordable at $55 (PSA Graded 9) while Abreu’s 2014 Bowman Chrome Prospect base autograph rookie card (BGS Graded 9.5/10) has gone down to just less than $50.
There’s one big lesson here in that it goes to show how much a card can be devalued after the shine wears off on one’s rookie season.
But who knows? Judge may be the one that bucks the trend especially playing for a historic team like the Yankees.
The question we asked of “What do we do with Aaron Judge?” at the start of the season sounds pretty ridiculous now. With the benefit of hindsight, we buy, buy, buy!
