Current professional baseball players including Andrew McCutchen, Adam Jones and Chris Archer will be sharing their thoughts in a television feature in tribute of Jackie Robinson.
“MLBN Presents: Jackie Robinson, 70 Years Later” airs on Sunday at 8 p.m. ET with McCutchen and others telling stories about what Robinson means to them and how he paved the way through perseverance and sacrifice for black ball players to be accepted into the game.
For both his tremendous on-the-field and off-the-field accomplishments, it’s fitting for Robinson to have a statue unveiled in front of Dodger Stadium of Robinson stealing home.
And in the hobby world, it’s only fitting to see his iconic 1948 Leaf Jackie Robinson rookie card sustain its value.
One was recently sold for more than $15,000 for a PSA Graded 7 (NM) card on eBay.
To get a better picture of what he endured, the movie “42” is a must-see especially for any baseball fan (see the trailer below).
